Specifying the product definition file

You can specify the product definition file in the New Class or Class Properties dialog box.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If you do not have the New Class dialog box open, right-click an existing product class from the product library tree view and choose Properties to open the Class Properties dialog box.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) next to Product Definition.

  4. Click the cell next to File and click the ellipsis (...) that appears.

    The Browse For File dialog box appears.

  5. Click the Storage type drop-down arrow and choose an option:
    • File system—If the file is stored in a local or network computer
    • Database—If the file is stored in a database
  6. Click the ellipsis (…) next to the Location field.

    The Open dialog box appears.

  7. Navigate to the XML or MDB file that contains the schema information for your product class.
  8. Click Open.

    The Browse For File dialog box appears.

  9. If necessary, type a description for the file in the Description text box.
  10. To check out the file, check the Keep Checked Out check box.
  11. To keep a copy of the product definition file on your machine, check the Keep Local Copy check box.

    If you choose this option, the product definition file is copied to the location specified in the Location field.

  12. Click OK.

    The New Class or the Class Properties dialog box appears. The Name, File Type, Status, Author, Check Out Location, and Username fields are automatically populated. If you have typed a description in the Description text box on the Browse For File dialog box, the text appears next to the Description field.

  13. Click OK to close the dialog box or go back to Adding a new product class to continue setting the rest of the properties in the General pane.
