Set Origin Vertex

The Set Origin Vertex tool is used to set the origin vertex (vertex number 0) of a polygon feature. This tool can be used in workflows to support grid and graticules layers where you need to specifically set an origin location for an area of interest. It can also be used in conjunction with features that are using the Suppress Outline geometric effect to better control where the line suppression starts.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. If necessary, add the Set Origin Vertex tool to a toolbar.
    1. On the main menu, click Customize Customize Mode.
    2. Click the Commands tab.
    3. Select Production Cartography in the Categories list.
    4. Locate the Set Origin Vertex in the Commands list.
    5. Drag the Set Origin Vertex command onto a toolbar.
  3. If necessary, start an edit session.
  4. Click to select the polygon feature for which you want to reset the origin vertex.
  5. Click the Set Origin Vertex button.

The vertices for the selected feature are displayed. The current origin vertex is shown in red by default.

  6. Move over one of the existing vertices that you want to set as the origin; the cursor will change. Click to set it as the origin.

The vertex clicked will be set as the origin and will change its default color from green to red.
