Defining coordinates for functions by transferring coordinates from the output grid
Another way to retrieve coordinates is to transfer them between the Input and Output tabs in the Coordinates area. The transfer, however, works only one way—from the Output tab to the Input tab. This functionality works only when the grid on the Output tab has at least one row of coordinates available in it.
Transferring coordinates overwrites any preexisting data in the target row.
- Start ArcMap.Tipp:
If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.
- On the menu bar, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Feature Builder.
-
Click the Launch Feature Builder button on the Production Feature Builder toolbar.
The Feature Builder window appears in ArcMap.
Tipp:The Feature Builder window can be placed anywhere in ArcMap, or in the TOC, with the aid of the arrows showing the possible placement positions.
- Define coordinates on the Input tab using any of the following methods:
-
Choose a function in the list on the Functions tab that produces at least one set of coordinates as output, such as Segment Distance.
Other functions that can be used are as follows:
- Arc (Azimuth and End Point)
- Arc (Azimuths)
- Bearing Distance (Great Circle)
- Bearing Distance (Magnetic)
- Bearing Distance (Rhumbline)
- Bearing Intersection
- Circle Bearing Intersection
- Circle Circle Intersection
- Circle Section
- Procedure Leg CA, FA, VA
- Segment Bearing
- Segment Distance
- Segment Segment Intersect
- Click the Execute button at the top of the Feature Builder window.
- Verify that the Output tab coordinates grid in the Coordinates area has at least one set of coordinates in it.
- If the output is not null, select the row on the Input tab coordinates grid to which you would like to transfer the coordinates from the Output tab grid.
- Click the Output tab.
-
Select the row header for the row that contains the coordinates you want to transfer to the Input tab.
Hinweis:
This feature only works when there is one selected row in grids on both the Input and Output tabs. If the grid on the Input tab does not have a selected row, the first row (if available) is chosen. Likewise, if there is no selected row in the grid on the Output tab, the first available row is chosen for copying. If both grids have no selected row, the first rows are chosen automatically in both grids. Also, if the grid row on the Input tab already has a coordinate format chosen that is different from the one for the grid row on the Output tab, the coordinates are converted to the input format automatically, thus preserving the existing format there. If both formats are the same, the coordinates are copied to the grid on the Input tab.
