Managing masking rules

The Masking Rule Manager tool allows you to create, edit, and delete masking rules. It also allows you to copy masking rules between product classes. The rules contain the information necessary to create one particular type of mask for one specific feature layer.

Schritte:
  1. Start ArcMap.
    TippTipp:

    If the ArcMap - Getting Started dialog box appears, you can open a new or existing map document. You can also check the Do not show this dialog box in the future check box and click Open.

  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Production > Production Properties.

    The Production Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Make sure that the production properties are set correctly.

    Properties include the Product Library Workspace, Production Database Workspace, Data Model Version, Product Class Version, and Instances Maintained. The Data Model Version needs to be set to the AIS Charting model.

  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aeronautical Data Management.
  5. Click the Masking Rule Manager button Masking Rule Manager on the Aeronautical Data Management toolbar.

  6. To add a new rule, perform the following steps:
    1. If necessary, click the Create/Modify tab.
    2. Click the Select Class drop-down arrow and choose a class version.
    3. Click the Select Product Class Version drop-down arrow and choose a product class version.
    4. Click the Create New button.

      This will add a new row at the bottom of the existing rules for the selected product class version.

    5. Type the rule name and enter the information for the rest of the columns.
    6. Click OK.

    Once you have created rules, you can run the Batch Masking tool to create masks.

  7. To modify an existing masking rule, perform the following steps:
    1. If necessary, click the Create/Modify tab.
    2. Click the Select Class drop-down arrow and choose a class version.
    3. Click the Select Product Class Version drop-down arrow and choose a product class version.
    4. Click in each cell for the rule you want to modify and change it.
    5. Click OK.
    HinweisHinweis:

    The changes you specify will only apply to new masks you create. Existing masks will not be updated.

  8. To delete a masking rule, perform the following steps:
    1. If necessary, click the Create/Modify tab.
    2. Click the Select Class drop-down arrow and choose a class version.
    3. Click the Select Product Class Version drop-down arrow and choose a product class version.
    4. Check the box next to the rule you want to delete.
    5. Click the Delete Selected button.

      A warning message appears to ensure you want to delete the selected rule.

    6. Click OK on the message.

    The selected masking rule is removed from the list of masking rules.

    TippTipp:

    You can also delete masking rules from a selected product class version on the Manage tab using the same steps.
