Deleting a schematic data source
Date sources can be deleted at any time when they are unused—that is, when they are not used at any diagram template level (through its custom query or any Query attribute configured on it) or at any schematic feature class level (through its related associated object class, its custom query, or any Query attribute configured on it).
The steps below detail how to delete a data source:
- Edit your schematic dataset within Schematic Dataset Editor.
- If the schematic dataset resources are not arranged in a tree view in the Schematic Items window, click Views in the Schematic Dataset Editor toolbar and click Project Tree.
-
Click the entry related to the schematic data source you want to delete in the Schematic Dataset Editor tree and click Delete.
The Delete command is not available for the CURRENTDS schematic data source.
-
Confirm the deletion.
Schematics verifies that the data source is not used—that is, it is not referenced by any schematic dataset component (schematic diagram templates, schematic feature classes, schematic attributes, and so on) or in the schematic diagrams stored in the schematic dataset. If it is unused, the data source entry is automatically removed from the Schematic Dataset Editor tree. If it is still in use, a message displays saying that the data source is used and it is not deleted.
