Modify feature layer symbols

Purpose

This sample demonstrates how to use the Symbology control to display marker, line, and fill symbols, then update the symbol used by the renderer of a feature layer. This sample uses the Symbology control in conjunction with the PageLayout control, TOC control, Toolbar control, and the controls commands.

How to use

See How to use ArcGIS samples for help running the sample.

1. Start the ModifyFeatureLayerSymbols sample application.
2. Click Open to load a map document into the PageLayout control.
3. Right-click a layer in the TOC. The Layer Symbol Selector dialog box opens.
4. Select a symbol and click OK. The selected symbol is applied to the layer.
