Editing process chains in an image service definition

The processes that can be applied to raster datasets or individual rasters are similar to the processes that can be applied to an image service definition. There are some processes, such as the orthorectification process, that when applied on the raster datasets or individual rasters changes the geometry.

You may want to add or edit the processes applied on a raster dataset as a whole or on individual rasters. The Process chains of raster datasets or rasters option available on Edit Raster Properties Wizard enables you to add or delete a process from the process chain specified for a raster dataset or a single raster in a dataset. You can add processes to the beginning of the process chain or at the end of a process chain. You can also delete processes from the process chain.

With Edit Raster Properties Wizard, you can make multiple types of edits at a time to the following:

The following procedure will allow you to make modifications to the process chain applied to a raster dataset or individual rasters.

步骤:
  1. Click the Image Service drop-down menu on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar and click Advanced > Edit Raster Properties.

Edit Raster Properties Wizard appears with a Welcome to the Edit Raster Properties Wizard message in the wizard panel.

  2. Click the Next button.

The Select what you want to edit wizard panel is displayed.

  3. Choose Process chains of raster datasets or rasters.
  4. Click Next.

The Select where the process chain edits will be made wizard panel appears.

  5. Optionally, choose Raster dataset or Raster based on where you want the process chain edits to be made.
  6. If you selected Raster dataset, click Next.
  7. If you selected Raster, you have the option to choose any one of the following:
    • All rasters—Choose this option to modify the process chain for all the rasters.
    • By raster ID—Choose this option to modify the process chain on particular rasters based on their raster IDs. You can get the list of raster IDs by clicking the List raster ID's button. This list will search for the raster IDs in the first 100 raster process definition files.
  8. Click Next.

The Select the task to modify the process chain panel appears.

  9. Select any one of the following options to add processes at the beginning or at the end of a process chain and to delete processes in the process chain:
    • Add processes to the beginning of a process chain
    • Add processes to the end of a process chain
    • Delete processes from the process chain
  10. Click Next.
  11. Optionally, if you selected Add processes to the beginning of a process chain, you see the Processes Available and Processes Selected list boxes. Choose the process that needs to be applied from the Processes Available list. Click the Add Process button 添加进程 to add it to the list of selected processes. You can move the processes in the Processes Selected list by clicking the Up 向上 and Down 向下 arrows. The process that appears topmost on the selected list of processes will be prioritized and applied at the beginning of the process chain.
  12. Optionally, if you selected Add processes to the end of a process chain, you see the Processes Available and Processes Selected list boxes. Select the process that needs to be applied from the Processes Available list. Click the Add Process button 添加进程 to add it to the list of selected processes. You can move the processes in the Processes Selected list by clicking the Up 向上 and Down 向下 arrows. The process that appears bottommost on the selected list of processes will be applied at the end of the process chain.
  13. Optionally, if you selected Delete processes from the process chain, the Select the processes to be removed from the process chain wizard panel appears. You can view the entire list of ArcGIS Image Server processes by selecting Show all ArcGIS Image Server processes, or you can view the list of processes of the current image service by selecting Show processes in the image service definition. Choose the process that needs to be removed from the Process Name list.
  14. Click Next.

The Do you want to perform additional editing panel appears.

  15. Choose Yes or No.
    • Choose No if you do not want to edit any other raster process definition files.
    • Optionally, choose Yes if you want to perform additional editing to the raster process definition files and click Next. It takes you again to the Select what you want to edit wizard panel. To perform more edits, repeat the steps from step 2.
  16. Optionally, you can choose the Use only the selected raster datasets in the service table or Use all the raster datasets in the service table option.
  17. Click Next and you can see the summary of the modifications in the Your raster process definition files are ready to be processed wizard panel.
  18. Click the Finish button to complete the editing process.

The Edit Raster Properties reporter window is displayed with the series of actions that is being applied on the current image service. Click the Close button to close the reporter and load the image service definition.

You can check the raster properties to verify that the process chains are modified based on your specifications.
