Using the Sampler2D process

This process is part of the standard mosaicking process. It performs additional sampling of the image, if required. This process may be applied to pixels after they are run through different process chains, prior to mosaicking, to generate the required output pixel size.

It is generally advantageous to perform processes like Convolution Filter prior to sampling. There are situations you would want to perform the sampling at an earlier stage in the process chain, such as when you want to decrease the number of pixels that will be processed.

Sampler2D is not similar to the Ortho process, which applies 3D sampling and uses elevation values as part of the process.

Adding the Sampler2D process will sample the pixels of the input image to the size that the application has requested.
