The specific system requirements for using your application, hosting your application, and using the application builder are listed below. For information on installing the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex application builder, see the installation guide.

The minimum requirements to run the application builder and create Flex Viewer applications are as follows:

Client requirements to run Flex Viewer applications

A web browser with Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher is required to run Flex Viewer applications. Install Flash Player from Adobe.

System requirements for hosting Flex Viewer

A web server is required to host Flex Viewer. The two most common web servers are Internet Information Server (IIS) and Apache HTTP Server.

Internet Information Server
Internet Information Server (IIS) is from Microsoft. The installation instructions differ between different version of IIS and Windows operating systems. See the following Microsoft documentation for details:
Apache HTTP Server
Apache HTTP Server from the Apache Software Foundation is an open-source Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) server for modern operating systems including UNIX, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Netware. Apache has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April 1996.
