Enterprise Management

With the Enterprise Management utility, you can manage dataset definition and service updates across multiple Tracking Servers. The Enterprise Management utility is composed of the Enterprise Management Master and Client functions.

Enterprise Management Administration

The Enterprise Management Master function provides the capability for a “master” Tracking Server to send one or more dataset definition(s) or tracking service(s) to one or more designated “client” Tracking Servers. For example, the master Tracking Server would like to send a tracking service and corresponding dataset definition to a client Tracking Server only and not broadcast to remaining Tracking Servers on the network.

The Enterprise Management Master function provides the administrator with the following capabilities:

The Enterprise Management Master function is accessed by navigating to the Enterprise Management Client tab on the Tracking Server Manager dialog box.

The Tracking Servers to Manage pane on the Servers tab allows the user to add a service, delete (one or all) services, or edit a service. It also shows the server configuration home User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port. The user can apply, reset, or publish the selections. The DeActivate button allows the master to stop the tracking messages from being sent to a server.

The Tracking Servers to Manage pane (Servers tab) edit button allows the user to change the server name or IP as well as the port number.

The Tracking Servers to Manage pane Services tab allows the user to select or clear a single or multiple tracking services or definitions. The Apply, Reset, Publish, and DeActivate buttons are also available with the same functionality as on the Servers tab.

The Enterprise Management master Status tab shows the pending transactions and allows the user to delete one or all of the transactions. The Apply, Reset, Publish, and DeActivate buttons are also available with the same functionality as on the previous tabs.

Enterprise Management Client Administration

The Enterprise Management Client function provides the capability for a client Tracking Server to manually accept, automatically accept, or reject one or more dataset definitions or tracking services published from the master Tracking Server. For example, the master Tracking Server published two tracking services and corresponding dataset definitions to the client Tracking Server. The first transaction is accepted and the second transaction is rejected by the client.

The Enterprise Management Client function provides the administrator with the following capabilities:

The Enterprise Management Client function is accessed by navigating to the master Tracking Server Manager, Enterprise Management Client tab.

The Configuration pane of the Enterprise Management Client tab shows the servers that are currently active and the port being used. The user can add, delete, or edit servers shown in the Master Tracking Server(s) list. The DeActivate button stops the flow of information from the server. The user can apply, cancel, or retrieve a transaction.

The Edit Tracking Server dialog box on the Enterprise Management Client tab allows the user to edit the server name or IP and the port number. If the Automatically Accept Transactions check box is activated, the connections will be automatically accepted.

The Pending Transactions pane shows any Tracking Servers and the transaction date of a service that is in process. When there is an active connection to a Tracking Server, a green light and an information box will show the number of active connections. The user can accept, reject, or update any or all of the pending transactions.

The Details button on the Pending Transactions pane allows the user access to the information on a selected transaction.
