The Data Message Viewer

The Data Message Viewer is a utility that allows advanced users to view messages from Tracking Server.

You can display messages with the following options:

• No message display
• Message creation date and ID only
• Message definition ID
• Message brief
• Expanded message display
• Full message display

Using the Data Message Viewer

Steps:

1. Open the Data Message Viewer by going to Start > Programs > ArcGIS Tracking Server > Utilities > Data Message Viewer.
2. Make sure Tracking Server is running before attempting to connect to it. Enter the appropriate server name. If Tracking Server Security Connection Access is enabled for Tracking Server, then you must also enter a valid user name and password.
3. Click Connect. The button label will toggle to Disconnect if the connection is successful.
4. In the drop-down menu at the bottom of the dialog box, select the format for the message display.
5. Check the Speed check box to display the rate at which messages are being received.

   The message rate is displayed in the message display panel as the number of messages per second.
