Tracking Server Security Options

Tracking Server Manager provides security options for accessing Tracking Server connections, allowing you to establish access restrictions to Tracking Server.

The Connection Access security provider authenticates the user name and password based on the list of local Windows users defined on the server machine. It allows all authenticated users connection rights to all tracking services. Any local user account defined on the machine is able to access Tracking Server data, even when logging in from a remote client. The same authentication applies to all applications attempting to access tracking services from Tracking Server, including Tracking Server Manager, Tracking Viewer, and Tracking Server Web Monitor.

Selecting No Access Restrictions as the security provider allows everyone access to connect and see tracking services.

TipTip:

If you would like to set up different user access control lists for different tracking services on a single Tracking Server, custom development is required. Alternatively, you could use multiple Tracking Server machines with different sets of local users defined.
