Registering ArcGIS Image Server with ArcGIS Server via the Internet

LegacyLegacy:

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

To publish your .ISCDef file using ArcGIS Server, you must register ArcGIS Image Server with ArcGIS Server. You can do this in ArcCatalog or by using the ArcGIS Server Manager Web interface.

Steps:
  1. Click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGIS Server > ArcGIS Server Manager 10.

This opens the login page for ArcGIS Server Manager in your Web browser.

  2. Type your user name.
  3. Type your password.
  4. Optionally, type the ArcGIS Server name.
  5. Click Log In.
  6. Click Manage my GIS server on the Welcome to ArcGIS Server Manager page.

If you're not on this page, click Home and click Manage my GIS server.

  7. Click Register ArcGIS Image Server.
  8. Type the server name in the Name text box.
  9. Optionally, edit the port number.
  10. Click OK.
