Viewing image service metadata in ArcMap or ArcGlobe

Steps:
  1. Right-click an image service layer in the table of contents and click Properties to display the Layer Properties dialog box.
  2. Click the Metadata tab on the Layer Properties dialog box.
  3. Click the Service Info node to display the read-only metadata fields.
  4. Click the Image Returned node to display the read-only image service fields for the currently displayed image.
  5. Click the Server Process node to display the list of processes that have been applied to the image service.
  6. Click the Source node to see the metadata for a particular raster displayed in the image service.

The Source node does not appear if there are no rasters in the image service.

  7. Click the Raster drop-down arrow and click a raster to display the read-only fields describing its information, metadata, and attributes.
  8. Click the Lock Raster button Lock Raster if you want to lock the image service to a raster specified in the Raster drop-down list.

Locking a raster changes the mosaic method of the image service to Lock Raster. The mosaic method is not updated until you close the image service and open it again.

  9. Click OK to close the Layer Properties dialog box.
