More Maps

More Maps allows you to view basemaps and load web maps from ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. ArcGIS Online provides access to shared geographic content by Esri and GIS users.

Web Maps provides access to the web maps in ArcGIS Online. Using the Public Gallery, web maps are available for viewing and adding to your map. Once added you can use the Select tool for selecting features on the map and creating a bounding box.

My Web Maps is the central repository for content exclusive to your organization through Portal for ArcGIS, a private web portal. You can access your groups and content from ArcGIS Online under My Groups and My Content. My Web Maps is the default name but you can use another name if you prefer as described in Preferences.

Note:

My Web Maps is optional and set up through Portal for ArcGIS. My Web Maps will not appear if you have not created this setting in Preferences.

To access More Maps, basemaps, web maps and my web maps, click More Maps.

Basemaps

To view basemaps, click Basemaps and click the basemap you want to use. The selected basemap appears on the map.
