Adding a custom tool to a toolbar

  6. Optionally, type the tool tip for the tool in the Tooltip text box.

You can specify tool tips for custom tools. Tool tips pop up when the mouse pointer moves over the custom tool. This functionality is not available when running ArcPad on Windows Mobile.

  7. Optionally, type the prompt for the tool in the Prompt text box.

You can specify prompts for custom tools. Prompts are displayed on the status bar when the mouse pointer moves over the custom tool. This functionality is not available when running ArcPad on Windows Mobile.

  8. Click the Browse button to select an image file for the custom tool, or select one of the default tool images from the combo box.

    • To assign a shortcut to an action button on a Windows Mobile device, type Ax, where x represents the number of the action button (for example, A1).
    • To assign a shortcut to a function key on a desktop Windows device, type Fx, where x represents the number of the function key (for example, F1).
