Web Applications post installation overview

The Web Services Post Install configures Services Manager and Web Services by setting the name of the GIS Server and the account that will be used to connect to the GIS Server in order to process Web service requests.

You must complete the Web Services Post Install if you installed the Services Manager or Web Services features of ArcGIS Server 10 - GIS Services.

Complete the post installation setup during the initial installation, or you can run the post installation setup at a later time from Start > Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework > Web Services Post Install.

Provide your GIS Server name

Web Services PI - 1

In the GIS Server field, provide the name of the machine running the Server Object Manager. By default, the machine you are running this post installation on has been provided. However, if you installed the SOM on another machine, modify this field with that machine name.

NoteNote:

If multiple instances exist, you will be presented with a list of the created instances. Select the instance that requires post installation configuration. If necessary, run the Web Services Post Install again to configure additional instances.

Provide your GIS Server Web Services account information

Web Services PI - 2

Provide the account information that will be used to connect to the GIS Server to handle Web services. This is the same account information that was provided during the GIS Server post installation.

If you are installing Server Manager or Web Services on the same machine as the GIS Server, the account will already exist on this machine. You can select Existing Local or Domain Account, and provide the account user name and password. Make sure you provide the same user name and password as the GIS Server Web Services account specified in the GIS Server post installation.

If you are installing Services Manager or Web Services on a different machine to the GIS Server, you must specify whether this account will be created on your local machine, or if the account already exists. Select the appropriate option and provide the account user name and password. If the account does not exist locally it will be created for you. Make sure you provide the same user name and password as the GIS Server Web Services account specified in the GIS Server post installation.

If you specify an Existing Local or Domain Account, the account provided must be a member of the agsadmin and agsusers group.
