Visual Studio integration
ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework supports Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Supported Visual Studio editions are Visual Studio Standard, Professional, Premium, Ultimate, and Visual Web Developer Express. The Visual Studio edition(s) installed will determine which Visual Studio Integration feature(s) are available. For example, if Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Service Pack 1 is installed, the Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Integration feature will be available.

- Visual Studio 2008 Standard Service Pack 1

- Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition Service Pack 1
Integration of the Web Application Developer Framework with Visual Studio Express Edition offers a subset of the functionality provided by integration of the Web Application Developer Framework with Visual Studio Standard or Professional Editions.
Web ADF integration with Visual Studio
Unavailable features can be added at a later time by installing the required dependency and going to Add/Remove Programs > ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework 10 - GIS Services or ArcGIS Server 10 for the Microsoft .NET Framework 10 - Web Applications > Change > Modify. The feature that had been unavailable before should now be visible and marked with a red X. Select the feature for installation and follow the on-screen instructions until the installation process has successfully completed.
Note: Uninstalling and reinstalling the software is not required.
