MapIt overview
Esri MapIt is a light-weight mapping solution designed to serve spatial data stored in SQL Server 2008. SQL Server 2008 supports native storage of spatial data in tables or views. Esri MapIt includes a Spatial Data Service that enables you to query and display SQL Server spatial data as features in client applications, such as those built on the ArcGIS API for Windows Phone. The ArcGIS API for Windows Phone includes three core components that you will use to interact with and display these features: FeatureLayer, GraphicsLayer, and QueryTask.
