Duplicate or delete a feature

If you have a feature in an editable layer and you want to create another feature just like it with the same appearance and shape, you can duplicate it. You can also delete a feature entirely.

If you make a mistake, you can undo a deletion or duplication by clicking the Undo button Undo button at the top left of the screen.

How to duplicate a feature

To duplicate a feature, click the Edit Features button The Edit Features button on the toolbar to display the editing toolbar. Alternatively, if a pop-up window is open for the feature you want to edit, you can click Edit in the pop-up window, then click Edit Shape to open the editing toolbar.

Click the feature you want to duplicate, then click the Duplicate button on the toolbar to create the duplicate. An exact copy of the feature will be created, including its shape and popup content, slightly offset from the original.

How to delete a feature

To delete a feature, click the Edit Features button The Edit Features button to display the editing toolbar, and then click the Delete button The Delete button on the editing toolbar. If a pop-up window is open for the feature you want to delete, you can click Edit in the pop-up window, then click Edit Shape to open the editing toolbar.

Alternatively, press the DELETE key on your keyboard to delete the selected feature.

You can delete multiple features at once by selecting multiple features before clicking Delete or pressing the DELETE key. Use the Select Features button Select Features button, or hold down SHIFT while clicking features to add the clicked feature to the selection.

NoteNote:

If the Edit link is not shown in a pop-up window, or the edit handles are not shown for the feature, then that feature is not part of an editable layer and cannot be duplicated or deleted.
