Refreshing features on your product

The Product Refresher tool can operate within an enterprise (NIS) or a desktop production environment. The Product Refresher tool refreshes the features extracted from and/or synced to a product in the NIS environment or imported to a product in a desktop environment.

Refreshing the product allows nautical processes to run effectively and certifies the creation of valid S-57 export files.

NoteNote:

The Product Refresher tool should only be run in an enterprise or a desktop (stand-alone) production database, not in the NIS database.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Nautical.
  4. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    NoteNote:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    TipTip:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  5. On the Nautical toolbar, click Nautical > Product Refresher.

The Product Refresher dialog box appears.

    NoteNote:

The production environment you are working in affects the processes available. Products in a desktop production environment do not run the clip extraneous features and filter replica features processes.

  6. Check the appropriate check boxes for the processes you want to run and uncheck the processes you do not want.
  7. Click OK.

A process dialog box appears. Once the processes are finished, you are prompted to view the log file.

    NoteNote:

The log file only has entries for the clip extraneous features and filter replica features processes.

  8. Click Yes to view the log file or No to close the dialog box.
