Suppressing and unsuppressing feature relationships

All features can be suppressed or unsuppressed using the tools from the Nautical toolbar in ArcMap. However, if you want to exclude feature relationships from being exported to S-57, you must use the commands in the Relationship Manager window to suppress the relationship itself.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Nautical.
  4. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    NoteNote:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    TipTip:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  5. Click the Relationship Manager tool Relationship Manager on the Nautical toolbar.

    The ~Relationship Manager~ window appears

    NoteNote:

A feature relationship that is suppressed in the geodatabase is not included in an export to S-57 unless it is unsuppressed first. The PLTS_SUPPRESS field holds the toggle for suppression in the nautical geodatabase. For more information, please see the Suppress and Unsuppress tools.
