Color balancing a raster catalog

Color balancing can only take place if the following is true about your data:

Steps:
  1. In ArcMap, right-click the raster catalog in the table of contents and click Properties.

The Layer Properties dialog box opens.

  2. Click the Color Correction tab.
  3. Optionally, check Pre-stretch to stretch each raster catalog item before any color correction is performed.

When prestretching, each original raster dataset will have its statistics altered before the correction takes place.

  4. Check Color Balancing.
  5. Click the Balancing Method arrow and choose a color balancing method.
    • Dodging Balancing
    • Histogram Balancing
    • Standard Deviation Balancing

If Dodging Balancing was chosen, you can choose the target color surface type.

  6. Optionally, check Use Reference Target Image to use a target image to balance your colors and navigate to the raster dataset.
  7. Optionally, check Apply Contrast Adjustment if you want your color balancing result to be displayed with contrast stretching.
  8. Click OK.
TipTip:
Display the entire raster catalog without the wireframe to see the results.
