Applying pansharpening at all scale ranges by adjusting pixel sizes

LegacyLegacy:

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

To apply pansharpening to the imagery at any scale, you can alter the minimum and maximum pixel sizes. The steps below can be applied to a Landsat7 image.

Steps:
  1. Click the Layer drop-down arrow on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar and choose the image service definition you want to work with (if there is more than one).
  2. Click the Select Features button Select Features on the Tools toolbar.
  3. Choose the footprint of the raster you want to edit.
  4. Click the Raster Properties button Raster Properties.
  5. Click the Rasters node in the list on the left side of the Raster Properties dialog box.
  6. Scroll through the list on the top left side and click the panchromatic raster. With Landsat 7, this would be the row with ID = 8.
  7. Delete the value in the Max. Pixel Size text box.
  8. Change the value in the Min. Pixel Size text box to 14.25.
  9. Click OK.
