Setting the feathering parameters in the seamline attribute table

ArcGIS 10 is the last release of the stand-alone ArcGIS Image Server product. The image service definition (.ISDef) has been replaced by an improved geodatabase data model—the mosaic dataset—which can be published as an image service using the ArcGIS Server Image extension.

Steps:
  1. Right-click the Seamline layer in the ArcMap table of contents.
  2. Click Open Attribute Table.
  3. Optionally, to type a new value into each field
    1. Click Customize, point to Toolbars, then click Editor to open the Editor toolbar.
    2. Click the Editor menu and click Start Editing.
    3. Click a field to change its value.

      • If editing a field in the FeatherW column, type a number to edit the feather width.
      • If editing a field in the FeatherWU column, type the word meter or pixel to specify the unit of the feather width.
      • If editing a field in the SLType column, type the word Around or Inside to specify how the feathering will be applied along the seamline.

    4. Once your edits are complete, click the Editor menu and click Stop Editing.
    5. Click Yes to save your edits.
  4. Optionally, select one or more rows to edit a few rows at a time, or leave them unselected to edit all rows in a column.
    1. Right-click the column heading and choose Field Calculator.
    2. Click Yes to continue editing.

      • If editing the FeatherW column, type a number in the FeatherW = text box to edit the feather width.
      • If editing the FeatherWU column, type "meter" or "pixel" in the FeatherWU = text box, using the double quotes around the words to specify the unit of the feather width.
      • If editing the SLType column, type "Around" or "Inside" in the SLType = text box, using the double quotes around the words to specify how the feathering will be applied along the seamline.

    3. Click OK.
  5. Close the Attributes of Seamline table.
