Associating workflows with map documents for the current user

Associate workflows with map documents for the current user by using Associate Workflow with MXD command from the Task Assistant window shortcut menu. This method allows you to associate one or more saved task assistant workflows with either the current map document or another saved map document. This association is stored in the TaskAssistantUserProfile.xml file located in <user application data>\ESRI\TAM10.0\Data.

Steps:

1. Start ArcMap.
2. If necessary, click the Task Assistant window button on the Task Manager toolbar to display the Task Assistant window.
3. Right-click in the Task Assistant window and choose Associate Workflow with MXD.

   The Associate Workflow and MXD dialog box appears with the current map document displayed as the default MXD selection.

4. You can proceed using the default map document or click the ellipsis (...) next to MXD and navigate to the MXD you want to use.
5. Type a workflow file name in the Workflow text box or click the ellipsis (...) next to the workflow field to browse to and select the workflow file you want to use.
6. Click Associate.
7. Repeat steps 3–6 for each task assistant workflow to associate with the MXD.
   Tip:

   You can also repeat the steps above to associate workflows with a different saved MXD by choosing another MXD in step 2.

8. Click Close.
