Changing the reference version for diagrams based on SDE data

When the Find Diagrams By Data Source command is executed from an SDE data source, and diagrams related to this data source are found, the Find Diagrams By Data Source dialog box that displays at the end of the process appears with the Change the data source for the selected diagrams box enabled:

Find Diagrams By Data Source sample result from a versioned database
In that case, you can change the reference version for all or some of the detected diagrams in the list. The steps below detail how to operate:

Steps:
  1. Check each desired diagram in the Diagram Name column.
  2. Check the Change the data source for the selected diagrams check box.
  3. Click the drop-down list and select the reference version on which you want the selected diagrams to be based.
  4. Click OK.

When clicking OK, all the schematic features contained in the selected diagrams are modified to reference the specified version.

    CautionCaution:

The process doesn't update the diagram content according to the new specified reference version; it only changes the data source for the associated or related features. It is recommended that you update the impacted diagrams after this change to be sure their contents are coherent with the new reference version. For example, a schematic feature associated with a GIS feature in the initial version is automatically associated with the GIS feature in the new reference version at the end of the process, but if this GIS feature doesn't exist in the new reference version, the associated schematic feature is only removed from the schematic diagram after its update.

    NoteNote:

The Change Reference Version command that displays when right-clicking a schematic layer in ArcMap can also be used to change the reference version for a schematic diagram.
