Accessing hyperlinked features
Steps:
- Click the Hyperlinks button on the Tools toolbar.
- Click a hyperlinked feature.
Hyperlinked features are outlined in blue when using the Hyperlink tool. When you pause the pointer on the feature, the icon changes to a hand and a ToolTip appears with the name of the target.
The hyperlink opens.
Tip:
- The Hyperlinks button is inactive if no hyperlinks have been defined by the map publisher.
- There are three types of hyperlinks:
- Document: When you click a feature with the Hyperlink tool, a document or file is launched using the application with which that file type is currently associated.
- URL: When you click a feature with the Hyperlink tool, a Web page is launched in the default browser.
- Macro: Visual Basic macros are not supported in ArcReader. The macros are not available in the published map.
- You can control whether or not hyperlink symbols draw in ArcReader. Click the Tools menu, click Options, then click the Appearance tab. Check or uncheck the Draw Symbol check box to change whether the hyperlinks draw.
