Using simple kriging with a data transformation to create a prediction map
The use of a data transformation is important when you would like to use the model to produce probabilities, quantiles or as an input to geostatistical simulation.
Steps:
- Click the Geostatistical Wizard button on the Geostatistical Analyst toolbar.
- Select Kriging / CoKriging and choose a dataset and attribute field, click Next.
- Choose Simple kriging and make sure that the Transformation type to Normal Score, click Next.
- Specify the desired parameters on the Normal Score Transformation dialog, and click Next.
- Specify the desired parameters on the Semivariogram/Covariance Modeling dialog and click Next.
- Specify the desired parameters on the Searching Neighborhood dialog and click Next.
- Examine the results on the Cross Validation dialog and click Finish.
- Click OK on the Methods Report dialog.
