Changing symbol or layer properties for military features

You can change the symbol and label properties of military features using the procedure below. For example, you can increase the size of your symbol or turn labels on and off.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap and Open a map or start ArcGlobe and open a globe.
  2. If you opened ArcMap, enable the Maplex extension, turn on the Labeling toolbar (right-click any toolbar button and click Labeling), then on the Labeling toolbar, click the Labeling drop-down menu and click Use Maplex Label Engine. Note: the Maplex label engine turns off when you close ArcMap.
  3. If you haven't already, open a layer from a geodatabase, a layer file (.lyr file), or a layer package that contains military features most appropriate for your map. For details, see the first steps in the Adding military features to a map procedure.
  4. To change symbol properties, right-click the layer in the table of contents and click Properties. On the Layer Properties dialog box, click the Symbology tab, then use the following table as a guide.
