Previewing a time animation
One you have created the time animation, you can preview it using the Time View tab of the Animation Manager. Listed below are the steps to preview a time animation.
Before previewing an animation using the Animation Manager, ensure that the Time Slider (available from the Tools toolbar) is closed. The Animation Manager and the Time Slider cannot be opened at the same time. You will have to close the Time Slider and then open the Animation Manager.
- Click the Animation drop-down menu and click Animation Manager.
- Click the Time View tab.
- Click within the Time View
display to preview a time slice.
Click along the track line to preview multiple time slices or click and drag the red Time Slider to play the animation.
Check the Restore state after playing check box to restore the state of the layer or table after the animation is played or previewed. The data is no longer drawn based on the time of the display (map, scene, or globe).
- Uncheck Restore state after playing so the frame that is currently being previewed is
retained in the display or the graph after the Animation Manager is
closed.
To restore the state of the layer or table after closing the Animation Manager, click the Time View tab on the Animation Manager, check Restore state after playing, then click in the Time View display to preview a time slice. Upon closing the Animation Manager, the state of the layer or table is restored. The temporal data is no longer drawn based on the time of the display (map, scene, or globe).
