Clipping footprint polygons to the image service boundary

You can recompute footprints to clip a footprint to the extent of its boundary. This is useful when you want the image service to have a different extent than that of all the raster datasets within the image service definition. For example, if you have aerial photography and satellite data in an image service definition, the satellite data may cover a larger area. By editing the boundary polygon to the desired dimensions, you can crop the footprint polygons.

Schritte:

1. Open an existing image service definition or use one that is already open in ArcMap.
2. Right-click the Footprint layer in the table of contents and click Recompute Footprint > By Clipping To Boundary.
3. Click No if you do not want to have the raster datasets or derived images that are outside the boundary removed from the image service definition; otherwise, click Yes and continue with the following steps.

   The raster dataset or derived image footprints are highlighted.

4. Click OK to remove them.
5. Optionally, check Remove raster dataset.
6. Optionally, check Delete raster process definition files.

   If checked, the raster process definitions will be deleted from disk. This option should not be checked if they are being used by a different image service definition.

7. Optionally, check Delete derived images.

   If checked, the derived images, such as service overviews, are deleted from disk. Raster datasets that have been added are not deleted.

8. Click OK.
