Compiling an image service definition

After creating the image service definition, you must compile it prior to publishing. It is compiled into a compiled image service definition file (.ISCDef) so an image service definition can be loaded quickly into a service provider. The .ISCDef file contains the image service definition (including content of shapefiles and .ISDef and .RPDef files). It will be placed next to the image service definition folder with the same name but with an .ISCDef extension.

If you make edits to an image service definition, such as adding raster datasets or editing the image service properties, you must recompile the image service definition and republish (resynchronize) it.

Schritte:
  1. Click the Image Service drop-down menu on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar and click Advanced > Compile.

The Service Editor Report window displays the compilation progress. A compiled image service definition, <service name>.ISCDef, is generated.

When the image service definition is being compiled, all the buttons on the Image Service Definition Editor toolbar are unavailable. At the end of the compilation operation, these buttons become available.

TippTipp:

You can also compile the image service definition when creating it,when adding data using the wizards, or by choosing the Compile service option on the Build dialog box.
